VPS (Virtual Private Server): VPS is the next step above shared hosting. It’s still a shared account, but you have a few things items that are strictly yours. These are disk space, an operating system, and RAM. While this is still an affordable choice, you still have to share some resources with the other company sharing the parent server such as server load, or memory.
A Dedicated Server: This service is completely yours. You have no one else competing for your resources. If you anticipate that you’ll have a high-traffic website, this could be the best choice for you since you’ll have access to vast resources, complete control of your server, and the ability to add more RAM when needed. Keep in mind this is the most expensive of the (3), and you’ll want to make sure you’ve done all your homework to see if this will work best with your budget.
